In this course we make beautiful paper using traditional and modern techniques.
Basic course 1
You learn how to process hand-made paper for artistic use by applying basic techniques. From original cards to paper for your own sketchbook or for a work of art.
Materials you work with are a.o. cotton-, linen-, hemp fibres and abaca. Pigments, visible fibres or printed materials are added to the paper pulp. Then you go on experimenting with laminating, stencilling and blind pressing.
Basic course 2
For those who have followed basic course 1, we offer a follow-up course. Together we go to the paper factory, to make pulp with the "Hollander". With the use of pigments and additives you prepare the pulp futher. Then make a watermark-stencil of glue. We use this to scoop veils of colored pulp over it. Make a hanging wall object, a journal or shape your paper into a 3D object.
